So what is Hands Off My Money all about?

I’m a 30 year old man employed in the energy industry in the UK, and despite having a good salary I am always broke.

This blog is my way of educating myself and hopefully anyone who stumbles upon it in how to improve their finances.

It’s my hope that by showing my investment history and discussing my performance I will provide an example (good or bad!) for other would be investors.

As can be seen my portfolio is modest and currently down just under 2%.

My portfolio is currently very heavily weighted in shares, with about 90% being invested in two index trackers, one focussed on the whole world and the other increasing my exposure to emerging markets.

My strategy going forward will be largely influenced by by How to Own the World by Andrew Craig and as such I will be selling some of my shares in order to diversify into commodities and then invest proportionately into them each month going forward.

I intend to invest in a simple way for now and continue to work on my professional development with the goal of increasing my earnings in order to increase my investments until they overtake my earnings.
